Tampa 2013 Budget: Cuts, but no layoffs, tax increases

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn presented his proposal for a balanced $804.4 million budget that includes another year of cuts, but no layoffs and no increases in property taxes.

"This is unlike anything we have ever experienced and it has not been easy," the Mayor told the council, referring to the last several years.

Early Vote totals in Hillsborough to date

Tampa, Florida - The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office has announced the Early Vote totals as of shortly after 6 this evening.

They report that 1,833 Early Votes were cast today, resulting in a total of 13,371 votes to date.

Early Vote for the 2012 Primary Election ends Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Last day to request delivery of a Vote By Mail Ballot

Tampa, Florida - The deadline for Hillsborough County residents to request delivery of a Vote By Mail Ballot for the August 14 Primary Election is 5 p.m. today.

After 5 p.m., voters must appear in person at any of the Supervisor of Elections four offices to request a Vote By Mail ballot, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office said in a release.

Tampa, Florida - The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office has announced the Early Vote totals as of shortly after 6 this evening.

They say 1,675 early Votes were cast today, putting Hillsborough County at a total of 11,538 Early Votes to date.

Early Vote for the 2012 Primary Election ends Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Primary Election Preliminary Early Vote Totals

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections has announced the Early Vote totals as of shortly after 6 this evening.

They say 1,635 Early Votes were cast today, and that to date,9,864 votes have been cast during the early voting period.

The Early Vote for the 2012 Primary Election ends this coming Saturday, August 11.

Purse thieves strike as victims pump gas

Hernando County, Florida-- Deputies search for purse thieves who struck as a driver was filling up her car at the gas station. Shortly after taking her purse, the thieves cashed her checks as well.

Deputies say that on Monday, July 23, just before 5:30 p.m., a vehicle burglary occurred at the 7-11 located at 14333 Spring Hill Dr. in Spring Hill. The female driver was pumping gas when they say a white male entered the passenger side of her vehicle and removed her purse from the front seat.
