Early Vote totals in Hillsborough to date

Hillsborough County, Florida-- The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections has announced Early Vote totals as of shortly after 6 this evening. They report that 2,341 Early Votes were cast today.

To date, 17,489 Early Voted have been cast in Hillsborough County.

Tomorrow is the last day of Early Vote in Hillsborough County.

Tampa, Florida-- Tomorrow night, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan will take the stage at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Ampitheatre.

10 News tie in? 10 News' own Chief Meteorologist Jim Van Fleet , who also is a singer/song writer, opened up for Aldean at the Volusia County Fair a few years back. Van Fleet also recorded a song with him on his latest album, Maytown Road.

Deputies issue warning after scooter theft spike

TAMPA, Florida -- As gas prices around the Tampa Bay area again creep closer to the $4 mark, a crime trend is rising along with them.

Hillsborough County deputies say scooter thefts have soared since January, around the first time this year the pain at the pump increased.

Eight cell phone stores burglarized, suspects on the loose

Tampa, Florida-- Deputies search for suspects involved in eight cell phone store burglaries that have taken place around the bay area since July 23.

According to deputies, the suspect, or suspects, utilized an object such as a hammer, rock or flower pot to break the business windows and enter the stores in each of the cases.

They say the suspects searched for cash, and then exited the stores, either through the back doors or at their points of entry.

They say all but one of the burglaries occurred near midnight.

Tampa 2013 Budget: Cuts, but no layoffs, tax increases

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn presented his proposal for a balanced $804.4 million budget that includes another year of cuts, but no layoffs and no increases in property taxes.

"This is unlike anything we have ever experienced and it has not been easy," the Mayor told the council, referring to the last several years.

Tampa, Florida - The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections office has announced the Early Vote totals as of shortly after 6 this evening.

They report that 1,833 Early Votes were cast today, resulting in a total of 13,371 votes to date.

Early Vote for the 2012 Primary Election ends Saturday, August 11, 2012.

Last day to request delivery of a Vote By Mail Ballot

Tampa, Florida - The deadline for Hillsborough County residents to request delivery of a Vote By Mail Ballot for the August 14 Primary Election is 5 p.m. today.

After 5 p.m., voters must appear in person at any of the Supervisor of Elections four offices to request a Vote By Mail ballot, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office said in a release.
