Opera Tampa Gala

Tampa, FL – Join Opera Tampa as they honor the incomparable Maestro Anton Coppola in his final season with Opera Tampa on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Straz Center.

This once in a lifetime evening includes festivities in conjunction with the Anton Coppola Fond Farewells Concert. This event will highlight the presentation of the Anton Coppola Excellence in the Arts Award to its namesake and their beloved maestro, Anton Coppola.

Art teachers of Hillsborough to display their work in downtown Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- The works of more than 40 Hillsborough County teachers will be on display from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Bamboozle Café, 516 N. Tampa Street in downtown Tampa.

Much of the artwork on display will also be available for purchase. The Event is sponsored by the Hillsborough County Art Educators Assocaition.

Hillsborough County – It’s time to add a little spice to your life! Shake your hips and dance the most popular dance style in Tampa, Salsa!

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 19, Latin Night will take over the David A. Straz Center and will continue to sizzle the dance floor once a month on a Thursday night from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.

There will be live music featuring Nalisio & Son Salvaje Latin Band and a FREE 30-minute dance lesson.

Auditions for Patel Conservatory Youth Orchestra this week

Tampa, FL -- Young musicians looking for orchestra experience may wish to audition for the the highly acclaimed Patel Conservatory Youth Orchestra (PCYO) at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts. Placement auditions will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4 and Wednesday, Jan. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. each day.

Gregory Ruffer, PCYO artistic director, says the orchestra is a training ground for the development of exceptional musicians; many PCYO students have gone on to receive university scholarships in music and to work professionally in the field of music.
