Hillsborough County hosts 31st annual Dixie Games | Community Spirit

Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation will host the 31st Annual Dixie Games May 13-15. The Dixie Games are a three-day competition for athletes with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, visual impairments, amputations, and spinal cord injuries. The Dixie Games allow athletes to showcase their abilities in a variety of sports including track, field, swimming, archery, table tennis, and weightlifting.
More than 100 competitors from across the southeastern United States and several foreign countries are expected. Hillsborough County Parks Staff anticipates this will be the largest Dixie Games in history. Athletes will range from first timers to world class paralympians with junior athletes being 6-22 years of age. Athletes will compete according to their age, gender, and level of ability for each sport.
Competitions will be held at three locations throughout Hillsborough County:
All People’s Life Center, 6105 E. Sligh Ave., Tampa
Temple Terrace Family Recreation Center, 6610 E. Whiteway Drive, Temple Terrace
University of South Florida Track, 4202 E. Fowler Ave. T, Tampa
