Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to conduct "Operation Trident" | Crime
Hillsborough County, Florida-- For those citizens who abide by the traffic laws, you can rest assured knowing that the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has an eye out for those who don't.
Today, tomorrow, and then again on next Friday and Saturday, HCSO DIII will conduct "Operation Trident", a three pronged traffic initiative which targets habitual traffic offenders, aggressive drivers and Impaired drivers.
According to the release about the operation, there has been an increase in traffic related fatalities throughout Hillsborough County this year, and deputies want to combat this trend.
They say the primary focus of the operation is to apprehend habitual traffic offenders who are knowingly violating the law by driving in spite of legal sanctions.
Many of these offenders have lost their licenses for a period of years due to the severity of their criminal driving history.
The operation will also include enhanced enforcement of aggressive and impaired driving laws.
Extra deputies will be assigned to monitor identified habitual traffic offenders and to detect aggressive or impaired on Friday July 20, Saturday July 21, Friday July 27, and Saturday July 28.
