Apartment fire at River View Apartments | News

Tampa, Florida-- Hillsborough County Fire Rescue units responded to 5671 Del Prado Dr., an internal address in the River View Apartments on 56th St. North of Sligh Ave.

According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the first unit on scene reported a first floor apartment unit with smoke and flames showing.

The three adjacent apartment units were evacuated and the fire was quickly knocked down.

Fire rescue officials say no one was in the apartment during the fire. 

The first of twelve fire units and 28 firefighters arrived within seven minutes, say officials, and the fire was declared under control within 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hillsborough County Fire Marshal's Office. No cause has yet been determined.
