Police: Man offers odd job to boy, ends in sexual battery | News

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police are currently searching for a man they say was responsible for sexually battering a 12-year-old boy.
On Wednesday, Aug. 8, between noon and 2:20 p.m., police say the man told the victim he'd hire him for an odd job, and instructed the boy to go with him to a vacant home. Once inside the home, police say the man sexually battered the boy.
Detectives continue to work leads on the case, but need the public's assistance in finding the suspect.
They have provided the following description:
- Black male
- Short black hair
- Short beard
- 20 to 30 years old
- Medium build
- 5'9 to 5'10
- 170 lbs to 185 lbs
- Wearing a black, short-sleeved polo, blue jeans, and a baseball cap
- Seen riding an older style men's blue bicycle, with white stickers and white handle bars and thin tires.
Anyone who recognizes the suspect should contact Crime Stoppers, where you can remain anonymous, and be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
