Hillsborough county offers free online classes on financial management

Hillsborough, Florida -- Hillsborough County Extension Service, in association with with the University of Florida Extension and Okaloosa, Duval and Lake County Extension offices, is offering free live interactive online classes on financial management.

Hillsborough celebrates St. Pat's with discounts on cats!

HIllsborough County, Florida-- Celebrate St. Patricks Day by adopting a cat!

All during March, felines one-year and older are offered for the wee cost of just $20 --including spay/neuter surgery, vaccination, micro-chip, and license tag.

Hillsborough County Animal Services on Falkenburg Road is open daily from 10 a.m. until 7 a.m. for adoptions and lost pet searches.

FREE tax prep for select Hillsborough residents

Hillsborough Co., FL-- Extension Service is offering free tax preparation assistance for those who earned $57,000 or less in 2012. Tax filers will be able to access a self-guided tax preparation program and receive assistance, as needed, from an IRS trained and certified volunteer. This free service will be available by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. starting Feb. 5 through April 9.

Humane Society to offer free shot clinic for pets Saturday

Hillsborough Co., FL-- The Humane Society of Tampa Bay will host a free vaccination clinic for dogs and cats for all Hillsborough County residents tomorrow.

They will have standard vaccinations, like rabies shots, at no charge for the first 1,000 pets. In addition, Hillsborough County Animal Services will be on hand offering free licenses for those with proof of residence in the following zip codes:

Bicycle registation event in Hillsborough

Hillsborough Co., FL - On Saturday, January 19, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be holding bicycle registration events throughout the county.

Bicycle theft is growing problem in our community. By registering your bicycle, you are helping to prevent theft and increasing the chances of getting your bicycle returned, if it is ever reported lost or stolen.

Registering your bicycle is free and bike lights will be given away at the events while supplies last!
